Samuel hat is knitted from the bottom up, with a leaf pattern before the decreases begin. At the top of the hat you can choose to knit a long tube with a knot tied on it, which fits especially well in the smallest sizes. For the smallest sizes, stitches are also picked up for ear flaps and icord cords at the end.
