Hello, and welcome to my creative universe!
Nyvold knitwear is run by me, Marit Elise Nyvold, who is a mother of young children, and who has always had a great joy of creation, especially through knitting and sewing. I love being creative - being able to create something with my own hands.

My knitting journey began in earnest in 2016, when I had just become a mother for the first time. The joy of being able to complete small, unique and practical garments for my beautiful little baby was great. In addition, it gave me the good feeling of being able to dress my child in good quality garments made of wool, which has so many good properties in this Nordic climate. After this, knitting has been a natural part of everyday life, and something that has given me a lot of sense of mastery, relaxation and generally been a great passion.

I have been creating my own knitting designs since 2019, focusing on making the garments practical and comfortable to wear, as well as having beautiful and creative details. I also want more people to experience the joy of knitting their own clothes, and it is therefore important to me that the patterns are as easy as possible for everyone to follow.

The focus and vision for Nyvold knitwear is to create patterns for garments that will be part of the everyday wardrobe of both adults and children - that they are garments that you want to wear often. Seen from a sustainability perspective and the challenges we face in the clothing industry, knitted garments made from good yarn qualities will last for years, need less washing, and you will probably wear the garments more often and longer if you have made them yourself and adapted them to your own body.
The goal going forward is also to have more focus on yarn quality - that one is aware of what materials the yarn contains, and how the yarn is produced. Here I am on a journey myself, where I am constantly trying to learn more about different yarn qualities, and how we as knitters can make even more environmentally friendly choices.

Knitting has experienced a huge boom in recent years, and I am pleased to see that more and more people are experiencing all the positive things that knitting has to offer.
