My Amalie neck is knitted with one strand of merino wool and one strand of mohair. First, the back piece is knitted from the bottom up. Then, stitches are cast off for the neck opening, before the front piece is knitted from the top down. Stitches in the neck opening are picked up, and a high ribbed neck edge is knitted that is folded down at the end. The front and back piece gradually slope inwards so that it is easier to put on the jacket or coat without the neck lumping.
