Amalie's winter neck can be knitted in stockinette stitch or in a structured pattern according to the diagram. The neck is knitted back and forth on a small circular needle. The back piece is first knitted from the bottom up, then stitches are cast off for the neck opening, before the front piece is knitted from the top down. Stitches in the neck opening are picked up, and a high rib is knitted that is folded down. Finally, a pretty border is crocheted around the front and back piece.
