Amalie's braided hat is knitted from the bottom up, and in the round on circular needles. At the bottom, a long rib is knitted that is folded up so that it lies double when the hat is in use. The rest of the hat is knitted in a structured and braided pattern.
Sizes:Child (Junior) Adult Calculated for head circumference: Approx. 48-52 (50-55) 55+ cm Recommended needles: Circular needles 5 and 6 mm. Double pointed needles 6 mm if not knitting with magic loop. Knitting tension: 22 sts per 10 cm in cable structure / 15 sts per 10 cm in stockinette stitch, with double thread on 6 mm needles Yarn consumption: 150 (150) 150-200 g Recommended yarn: Sandnes Garn Alpakka. Note that it is knitted with two threads at the same time.
The hats in the pictures are knitted in Sandnes Garn Alpakka in colors 2335, 7572 and 4554, and in Viking Garn Alpaca Storm in color 506.
